Who operates Ryven

What Ryven does

Ryven helps people discover real city events and places, inspect event details, save intent, start routes, and join event-specific conversations when available.

Data Ryven uses

Ryven uses account and profile information you provide directly or through Sign in with Apple, including your name and email address. You can also create an account and sign in using email and a password. Other data used to operate Ryven includes location when you grant permission, saved event activity, route and arrival activity, event chat messages, ratings or reviews, reports, blocked-user records, moderation decisions, support messages, and technical identifiers or logs needed for security, notifications, and reliable operation.

Location

Precise or approximate location, depending on the permission you grant, is used to show nearby events, calculate distance, and support route or arrival context when you allow it. Ryven may save location samples associated with route and arrival events, but not a continuous route history. Ryven does not sell location data or expose your live location as a public profile.

Before the first automatic train-options check, Ryven explains sharing your current location and selected destination with Google Maps Platform and asks you to continue or cancel. After you allow it, opening Directions may make that check before you select a transport mode or start a route. Starting or refreshing a route also sends the origin and destination to Google to calculate navigation or a train itinerary. Ryven records the version and date of this choice locally for your account on that installation. This is separate from iOS location permission and Google navigation terms. You can cancel and keep exploring without starting a route.

For an active walking or driving route, you may optionally grant Always Location so guidance can continue when the iPhone is locked or another app is open. Guidance stops when you finish or cancel the route. If you decline, you can use guidance while Ryven is open. Train directions require the app to remain open. You can change location access, including precise location, in iOS Settings.

If location access is unavailable or you turn it off, you can keep exploring events. Ryven pauses location-dependent guidance and arrival checks, keeps your selected destination, and offers a way to restore access. Returning from Settings does not by itself request a new train itinerary.

Ryven does not persist the Google route response as a route history; it retains only the selected route intent and stable event or place identifiers needed to request a fresh route. Google Maps and Navigation SDKs also process data while their features are used, including location, identifiers, interactions, and diagnostic or performance information for functionality and analytics, as described in Google's Privacy Policy. These SDK disclosures are separate from the records Ryven keeps in its own backend.

Public information

Event pages may show your display name with messages or reviews you choose to post. Ryven does not publish guest lists, emails, private account identifiers, or live user location.

Safety and moderation

Ryven filters public posts and uses reports and blocks to prevent abuse. Reports include a copy of the referenced content, the reporting account, the author, the reason, and the moderation outcome. Blocking hides that author’s content from your feed immediately and also alerts Ryven for review.

Service providers

Ryven uses a small set of providers to operate the product: Apple services for sign-in, maps, notifications, and device security; Google Maps Platform for maps, active navigation, and transit route calculations; Google processes information under its Privacy Policy; Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and backend functions; Vercel for web hosting and server operation; and map providers such as MapTiler or OpenStreetMap for web map display when active.

Tracking and sale of data

Ryven does not sell personal data, does not use data brokers, and does not use cross-app tracking for advertising.

Privacy choices

You can delete your account in Ryven from Profile. You can also start the same request from our dedicated account deletion page. You can revoke location or notification permission in iOS or Android Settings. To request access, correction, consent withdrawal, or deletion of activity tied to your account, contact hello@ryven-app.com. We may need enough information to verify the account before completing a request.

Retention and protection

Account and activity data is kept while your account is active and only as long as needed for the purposes above. Safety records may be retained longer when needed to prevent repeat abuse, resolve disputes, or meet legal duties. Ryven applies the same protection to personal data received through Apple, Supabase, or another provider as it does to data collected directly.
